| MARINE QUEENSLAND'S PRIVACY POLICY | Marine Queensland values your privacy. As part of our commitment to the protection of your rights under the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001 we detail here an explanation of our information handling practices.
Marine Queensland collects personal information solely for the purpose of providing services to our members and general information to the wider community with an interest in boating and/or the activities of the Association. Personal information will only be used for marketing including updates about our activities, events and services plus the promotion of the Association and the benefits of membership.
If we have marketed services to you and you no longer wish to receive those communications from us, you should contact our privacy officer on (07) 3390 4657 or by e-mailing info@marineqld.com.au and we will ensure this is corrected. Marine Queensland will normally collect directly from you any information we have about you. Occasionally, we may receive information about you from third parties (other than approved third parties), but if we are to use such information for any reason, we will let you know shortly after we receive it. The provision of your personal information is voluntary but if not provided Marine Queensland may not be able to provide you with the services you expect or request.
Information that we collect may include, but is not limited to your name and e-mail address, your organisation's name and physical address, your postal address, telephone and facsimile numbers and web address. This information may be disclosed to approved third parties but will not be sold or otherwise disclosed to anyone else unless required by law or permitted by the Privacy Act 1988. Approved third parties include our affiliate organisations such as the Australian Marine Industry Federation and the membership base of Marine Queensland.
Marine Queensland will take all reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information collected from you is accurate, complete and current, that such information is both physically and technologically secure and that any information no longer required for any purpose by Marine Queensland will be destroyed or permanently de-identified.
Your rights include full access to the personal information held by Marine Queensland concerning yourself.
