What is Marine Queensland?
Established in 1973 as a non profit, non government association, Marine Queensland is the ‘peak body' representing the leisure and light commercial marine industry. The association is funded by member subscriptions, boat shows, events and its commercial entities and arrangements.

Our members come from over 1600 businesses within Queensland's leisure and small commercial marine markets.
In 2005 - 06 the total Recreational Boating Industry within Australia generated direct industry revenue of $7.8 billion nationally, including annual exports of $934 million. The industry employed 28,000 full time, part time and casual employees. (Source: EMDA 2007)

- Promote the Marine Industry through marketing and advocacy
- Provide showcases for industry products through our boat shows
- Provide leadership and liaise with Governments, Authorities and Agencies
- Provide up to date information on legislative requirements
- Provide technical, regulatory and manufacturing information and advice
- Provide strategy, advice and practical assistance on environmental issues
- Assist with training on OH&S, Trade Practices and Fair Trading Act requirements and recruitment
- Provide Industry Accreditation programs
- Provide consumer complaint mediation and resolution
- Advise and represent on legal and financial matters
- Conduct and provide research on Marine Industry markets
- Conduct industry seminars, conferences& networking opportunities
- Demand driven product and infrastructure development and investment attraction
