Marine Surveyors Association

The Marine Surveyors Association began as the Small Ships Surveyors Association around 1994 and was formed by a small group of Marine Surveyors looking to improve practices and to provide a forum for Members to exchange ideas and provide support on Industry related issues. These founding members formed a constitution and developed standard reporting formats for general consistency in the practice of Marine Surveying.

The Small Ships Surveyors Association changed names in 2005 to the Marine Surveyors Association inc. and more recently became a division of Marine Queensland..

Members of the Association have various backgrounds which include Boatbuilding, Naval Architecture, Engineering and Mastering. Some members have Accreditation with Queensland Transport for various categories and the services provided by members can include Pre-Purchase and Insurance Risk Inspections, Machinery Inspections, Valuations, Construction Project Management, Stability Assessment, Safety Equipment Requirements, ABP (Australian Builders Plate) Consulting and General
